How To Discover Who You Really Are: Step By Step

If your like me then this question comes up a lot in your life...

Who am I?

Why am I here?

What is my life journey?

What was I put on this Earth to do?

Well, it all so happens that after a dear dear friend and a life mentor of mine, Amber Campion, recommended the book "The Celestine Prophecy" that I was struck with a sudden awareness of what my life purpose was. And the best part... It wasn't as complicated as I had been making it out to be.

It's actually pretty simple. And I'm going to share with you the same process I followed that lead me to my enlightenment. (This process comes out of the chapter "Clearing The Past"). And in the book "this process" is actually a conversation being had between characters, but I scribbled it down to some notes so that "we, real, physical beings" can apply the same concept to our lives.

HOW TO DISCOVER WHO YOU REALLY ARE:

1.) Look back at your parents. What did your father believe? What did your mother believe? What did your mother teach you? What did your father teach you? If given the opportunity, how could your mother's life been done better? And your father's?

*What you would have changed about your mother and your father is what you yourself are working on. Your looking for the meaning their lives had for you, the reason you were born to your mother and father and what you were born to learn.

"We are not merely physical creations of our parents; we are also spiritual creations. We Were born to these two people and their lives had an irrevocable effect on who we are. To discover your real self, you must admit that the real you began in a position between their truths...

*THAT IS WHY YOU WERE BORN TO THEM. TO TAKE A HIGHER PERSPECTIVE ON WHAT THEY STOOD FOR. YOUR PATH IS ABOUT DISCOVERING A TRUTH THAT IS A HIGHER SYNTHESIS OF WHAT THESE TWO PEOPLE BELIEVED!!!"

Example.) My father believed that life was carefree and a blast, until he discovered the world of alcohol and drugs. Because my dad died when I was 4 from a heroin overdose I can't really say he taught me much, other than a life filled with drugs and alcohol leads to depression and early death. But, if given the opportunity to better my dad's life I know for certain it would consist of living life completely sober. To be high on life. To receive the gifts, beauty and magic that are supplied to us when we live life in alignment with our true selves; not the parts of us that are masked with the drugs and alcohol that distort who we really are and cut off our connection for receiving these gifts of magic and beauty. To fully embrace and welcome life, substance free. That is how he would have lived his life if given a second chance.

2.) After you have answered those questions regarding BOTH your mother and father you have now come to the truth of who you really are.

Example.) So for me, my truth is...

From my mom: to love, accept, and embrace myself. To learn how to love myself just the way I am, flaws and all so that I can receive love from others. To stop viewing love as a thing to be afraid of, to let that guard down and learn to experience true love.

Form my dad: to embrace life totally sober, to experience the magic and beauty that life has to offer, without altering the experience with drugs and alcohol. And to connect to a spiritual practice.

3.) And lastly, as the book states,

"You can either go to sleep and go right back into your old drama, OR you can wake up tomorrow and hold onto this new idea of who you really are.

If you choose this then you can take the next step in the process, which is to:

-look closely at all the other things that have happened to you since birth. If you view your life as one story, from birth to right now, you'll be able to see how you have been working on this question all along

-you'll be able to see how you came to be right where you are, right this instance, and what you should do next!"

So with that said, discover who you really are based off your parents. You are the synthesis of your parents and it is your job to create a higher version of YOU based on who they are.

I sure do have my work cut our for me. And although I may not be perfect and I may have the occasional drink, I now know my focus. I now realize what my journey here on Earth is.

And it is my hopes that you come to this clarity as well.
